Filminera

Filminera Resources Corporation is one of the country’s largest operating gold ventures, contributing 9.3 billion pesos in taxes to local and national governments since start of its operation up to December 31, 2023. It has played a significant role in Aroroy’s reclassification from 4th to 1st Class Municipality since 2007.

The company is ISO14001 certified, and holds mineral tenements located along a splay of the Pliocene Philippine Fault System, and the rights and applications to hundreds of hectares of land area situated in the municipality of Aroroy in Masbate, which is called the Masbate Gold Project (MGP) site. The company has focused its advocacies on safety, environmental protection and community
development. Filminera has attained a total of 22,910,018 work-hours with-
out a lost time injury (LTI) equivalent to 2,145 LTI-free days as of September
30, 2024.

In 2022, Filminera won the Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan national silver award and was named Region 5 OSH (Occupational Safety and Health)
Champion. In 2017, DENR conferred the esteemed Saringaya Award to
Filminera for its conservation and management in the ecology of Aroroy. Filminera’s employees and contractors are mostly from the local community, composed of residents of the host barangays. The company’s Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) has created tremendous impact on the educational and health services, infrastructure and support systems, entrepreneurial development and marketing, and the protection of and respect for the social and cultural values of the local community.
